CHARLOTTE — Veterans Day is on Wednesday.
On Saturday, a local nonprofit hosted a festival at Romare Bearden Park to get a head start on recognizing the service and sacrifices made by those in the U.S. military.
The Carolinas Veterans Day Festival also shines a spotlight on veteran-owned businesses.
There were also employer resource groups for veterans at the event, along with food and other activities.
