GASTONIA, N.C. — CaroMont Regi0nal Medical Center in Gastonia had to be placed on lockdown late Tuesday night after a shooting, according to officials.
Investigators told Channel 9 someone was shot on Gilmer Street just after 10 p.m.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but because so many family members showed up there, the hospital was put on lockdown around 11:30 p.m.
The hospital eventually reopened overnight.
Doctors are still treating the victim, whose name has not been released.
Police are still looking for the shooter.
