CFD: Firefighters respond to large structure fire in northeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Fire Department responded to a large structure fire early on Thursday morning.

According to the fire department’s Twitter, around 5:35 a.m. firefighters responded to a structure fire call on the 11800 block of University City Blvd in northeast Charlotte.

The fire was in a large commercial building, with smoke and flames visible, according to the department.

One firefighter was treated at the scene with minor injuries.

Firefighters found where the blaze started. The cause is under investigation.
