Charlotte City Council set to vote on expanding UNC Charlotte police jurisdiction

CHARLOTTE — UNC Charlotte Police may soon be able to patrol off campus.

This map in green shows current UNC Charlotte property, and the yellow area shows where UNC Charlotte police will be able to patrol now.

Charlotte City Council will sign off on the changes Monday.

UNC Charlotte campus police will have full law enforcement authority when on duty in the expanded area.

They will primarily patrol the college campus but will respond to specific requests from CMPD when issues arise in the extended jurisdiction that deal with UNC Charlotte students, faculty, or staff.
