Charlotte City Council is scheduled to vote Monday on spending the money for the improvements, which include rectangular rapid-flashing beacons, new pedestrian signals and improved pavement markings.

The projects are part of the city’s Safe Streets for All Phase 1 initiative.

The seven locations are:

  • Beatties Ford Road and Cindy Lane
  • Tuckaseegee Road and Enderly Road
  • Craighead Road and Glory Street
  • 4900 Central Avenue
  • 5500 Farm Pond Lane
  • 5600 Farm Pond Lane
  • Ballantyne Commons Parkway at Woodview Circle

The upgrades are intended to improve pedestrian safety at the selected intersections. The funding will come from a federal grant.
