Charlotte ranked 8th best place to live in country by U.S. News

CHARLOTTE — A new ranking from U.S. News says Charlotte is one of the best places to live in the United States.

The Queen City now ranks 8th, which is up from last year’s ranking of 30th. U.S. News called Charlotte a charming yet sprawling southern city. However, Charlotte was not the highest-ranked city in North Carolina.

Raleigh and Durham were ranked third by U.S. News. Green Bay, Wisconsin, is ranked first. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was ranked 18th.

U.S. News analyzed 150 metro areas in the United States to find the best places to live based on quality of life and the job market in each metro area.
