CHARLOTTE — The City of Charlotte is getting hundreds of thousands of dollars for youth diversion programs.
Charlotte City Council will vote on Monday to accept $238,000 from Mecklenburg County’s Juvenile Crime Prevention Council.
The city says the funding will support diversion programs for 315 children accused of crimes.
The city says 5,300 children have participated in the program, and 90% of them did not commit another crime for at least a year.
