Concord to received $4M grant to expand airport

CONCORD, N.C. — The city of Concord is getting a $4 million grant to help pay for an expansion at Concord Regional Airport.

News partners at the Independent Tribune report the grant money will be paired with city airport funds to pay for an expansion of the south section of the airport's ramp.

The expansion will allow more planes to park at the airport.

The last major expansion at the airport was in 2006 when the city expanded the runway and widened ramps to accommodate larger aircraft.
