Construction crews to tear down paper building for new Knights Stadium

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Construction crews will tear down the Virginia Paper Company building on Third Street to make room for the new Charlotte Knights Stadium.

The building will start being torn down on Tuesday morning.

The stadium's official groundbreaking took place two weeks ago.

The $54 million project is being built a few blocks from the Panthers Stadium.

The current Knight's stadium in Fort Mill will go up for sale next month.

The Herald reports potential buyers for that land have contacted the county about the stadium property.

Proposals for the land include a track, a movie studio and a flea market.
