Firefighters rescued an injured worker Thursday morning who fell at a construction site in South End.
The Charlotte Fire Department was called around 11 a.m. to reports of a worker who fell at a building under construction on Hawkins Street.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the construction site as a first responder was lifted from the ground wearing a harness and holding on to a stretcher.
Crews were able to rescue the worker in about 30 minutes. The worker was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries but is expected to be OK.
Officials have not confirmed what caused the worker to fall, but we’re working to get that information.
