Crews searching Pisgah National Forest for missing hikers

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — UPDATE: The hikers were found safe Wednesday afternoon.

Several crews are searching the Burke County mountains for two missing hikers.

A woman and a man in his 80s never came out of the Pisgah National Forest on Tuesday.

The two were supposed to be in the Upper Creek Falls area near N.C. 181.

Crews have been searching since 8 p.m. Tuesday.
