Attorneys are asking for the subpoenas to compel attendance at the Jan. 11 evidentiary hearing into election fraud in the 9th District.

Attorneys suggest summoned witnesses be afforded the right to plead the Fifth rather than be provided immunity for testimony.

“In the NC-9 GOP election fraud investigation, we have asked the State Board of Elections to subpoena 48 individuals to attend the January 11 hearing,” attorney Marc Elias wrote on Twitter. “Board should draw all logical inferences if a witness fails to attend or takes the 5th.”
