• Police identify man found shot to death inside SUV at east Charlotte apartments


    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was conducting its' second homicide investigation of the day Monday -- the latest in the parking lot of an east Charlotte apartment complex.

    Officers were called around 8:20 a.m. for an assault call on The Plaza, and when they arrived they found a man, identified as 22-year-old Hinyse Bittle, shot to death inside a vehicle in the parking lot.

    Channel 9 was the first local news station at Vista Villa apartments at The Plaza and Barrington Drive and could see shattered glass scattered across the parking lot.

    Investigators could also be seen searching the tan SUV with damage to the driver's side window, where it appears a bullet may have passed through.

    No additional information has been released.
