Democratic Senate candidate Annie Andrews seeks GOP support in South Carolina

Annie Andrews Annie Andrews. (WSOC.)

A Lowcountry Pediatrician is trying to be South Carolina’s first Democratic U.S. Senator in more than two decades.

Dr. Annie Andrews has been crisscrossing the state, making her case to voters.

She is putting an emphasis on recruiting Republican votes and says she wants to work with President Donald Trump on several issues.

“Supporting no tax on tips,” Andrews says, “I support that no tax on Social Security. He has also, you know, moved the ball forward on lowering the cost of prescription drugs, and he’s shined a big bright light on the chronic disease epidemic that children in America are facing.”

Andrews is facing Republican Senator Darline Graham this November.

You can hear more from Andrews this Sunday on The Political Beat.

It’s airing at 12:30 pm and 11:30 pm on Channel 9 and 10:30 pm on TV64.
