CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after finding the bodies of a man and woman inside a Caldwell County home Sunday.
Deputies were called to the home on Pigtail Road in Lenoir after family members said they could not get in touch with the people who lived there.

When deputies got to the house, they found two people dead inside. They were identified as James Lee Webb, 54, and Maxie Farmer Webb, 48.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office and Medical Examiner’s Office determined that both died of gunshot wounds.
Detectives said James Webb initially shot Maxie Webb with a rifle before turning the gun on himself.
Authorities were calling the incident a case of domestic violence.
