Arrest made after man found shot to death at Ashe County home

ASHE COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies have arrested a suspect after a man was shot to death at a home in Ashe County Saturday night.

It happened just after 7:30 p.m. on Little Gap Road in the Fleetwood community.

Deputies said they responded after getting a 911 call saying a man had shot another man and then left the home in a white Ford Explorer Sport Trac.

The victim was later identified as Leonicio Ramos Guerrero.

Law enforcement officers were given a description of the suspect’s vehicle and shortly after, a West Jefferson police officer found one matching the description pull into the parking lot of a Lowe’s.

Officials said the officer was able stop the vehicle and take 45-year-old Reginald Elledge into custody. After he was questioned at the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office, he was arrested.

Elledge is currently being held without bond in the Ashe County Detention Center.
