Developer wants to build more than 1,300 homes in rural Cabarrus County town

MIDLAND, N.C. — A developer wants to build 1,310 single-family homes in Midland, which could double the Cabarrus County town’s population.

The town council heard a proposal Tuesday night to rezone property that borders Lower Rocky River Road, Morrison and Pioneer Mill roads and Highway 24/27 in Cabarrus County.

Council voted to table the item until the next meeting in order to give them time to work on some improvements, like lot size.
