Dr. Jill Biden energizes supporters on final day of early voting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Early voting has now wrapped up in North Carolina. More North Carolinians have cast their ballots in this state at this point than ever before. The Biden campaign wants to keep that enthusiasm heading into Tuesday and sent Dr. Jill Biden here to rally the troops.

If you closed your eyes, you might have thought you were on I-77 because of all of the honking. Instead of loud cheers and applause during the speech, attendees honked their horns to show support. Cars lined the parking lot of the PNC Music Pavilion Saturday afternoon to hear from Dr. Biden.

“This is it North Carolina, there are no do overs,” Dr. Biden said. “We can’t sit back and watch what happens, we have to decide what happens.”

The visit to North Carolina is Dr. Biden’s second this month. This time she brought comedian and Emmy-award winner Amy Schumer with her. Alluding to former Vice President Joe Biden’s love of trains, Schumer joked he refuses to watch her movie ‘Trainwreck’ despite there being no trains that wreck in it.

“We have the power to make sure every American can live a life with dignity no matter what they look like, where they are from or who they love,” Schumer said.

The polls have increasingly looked good for the Biden campaign in the Tar Heel state. Most have given the former vice president a slight edge but within in the margin of error. Dr. Biden told the crowd her husband will be a president that represents all Americans regardless of their backgrounds or political beliefs.

“We aren’t divided,” Dr. Biden said. “We are just trying to survive the chaos of Donald Trump’s America.”

The Trump campaign released a statement following Dr. Biden’s visit calling it “low-energy.”

“As Jill Biden makes a last-minute, low-energy appearance in North Carolina, Vice President Pence is holding two rallies here today — his fourth and fifth events in the Tar Heel State this week,” Gates McGavick, Trump Victory spokesperson, said. “The contrast is clear, and North Carolinians will vote to reelect President Trump and Vice President Pence on Tuesday.”

The Biden campaign is not finished in North Carolina. They are sending Senator Kamala Harris east on Sunday for visits to Goldsboro and Fayetteville.

President Donald Trump is holding a rally on Sunday in Hickory and on Monday in Fayetteville.
