EpiCentre goes into receivership after $85M loan default

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Sabrina Jones of CBRE Group has been appointed receiver for EpiCentre SPE LLC following its default on an $85 million commercial mortgage. A hearing on the case is scheduled next week in the N.C. Business Court.

Judge Donnie Hooper issued a consent order declaring the default and assigning the receivership on July 16 in Mecklenburg Superior Court. Felton Parrish of Alexanders Ricks filed the consent on behalf of EpiCentre and James Pulliam of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton filed on behalf of Deutsche Bank Trust Co., the trustee for the mortgager.

The case was transferred to the business court for all future action on July 29. Judge Louis Bledsoe has scheduled a video conference in the case for 2 p.m. Aug. 24.
