People brought baby items to donate to military families, including wipes, blankets and onesies.

Organizers and donors explained the need for events like the “baby shower.”

“I was surprised to find out that most of the women on base who gave birth to their newborns,” said Laura Piedad, the Guilford County Baby Bundles ambassador. “This is the only gift that they get, and that broke my heart, because it would be hard to be away from family and friends and not have a shower. So this is a small thing that we can do to help.”
