KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. — The expansion of the initial gaming facility at the Catawba Two Kings Casino in Kings Mountain is about to be completed.
The Catawba Nation opened the pre-launch facility for the casino on July 1 with 500 gaming machines. It is operating while project leaders continue to prepare for the start construction of the full phases of the casino.
On Oct. 1, the tribe and facility consultant Delaware North announced it would double the number of machines to accommodate visitor traffic. This week, the expansion will open to the public.
The expanded portion of the pre-launch facility with 500 additional gaming machines will open on Dec. 15, project leaders announced. The new machines will include electronic table games such as blackjack, roulette, craps and baccarat.
