CHARLOTTE — The second round of the PGA Championship in south Charlotte saw lots of movement on the leaderboard as golfers tried to make the cut for the weekend.
The second day also brought out some of North Carolina’s biggest names. Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young and Governor Josh Stein made appearances at the tournament.
Stein highlighted the financial impact of the tournament taking place in Charlotte and the ongoing Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in western North Carolina.
“One to hear about how things are going in Charlotte, what we can help them do to expand, but also I want to talk about Western North Carolina and how they can help us with the recovery that’s still going on out there,” Stein said on his visit.
The tournament will run through the weekend at Quail Hollow.
