CHARLOTTE — A southwest Charlotte family was displaced after a lightning strike caused a house fire on Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters with the Charlotte Fire Department went to a call on Steele Meadow Road just after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
CFD said the fire was controlled in 15 minutes by 30 firefighters from two departments.
Fire investigators said the cause of the fire was accidental and caused by a lightning strike. The fire caused $54,000 in damage.
The department said the residents have been displaced but will be staying with family.
