Lee said at least half of her students show up without the basic supplies.
"When they come in, they come in with nothing and sometimes we supply them with book bags, pencils to send home,” Lee said. “Sometimes we even put in notebook paper and pencils in their folders so they can do homework."
This is the first time Classroom Central is providing supplies to a school in York County.
It was made possible by a $30,000 grant from the James M. Cox Foundation, which is the charitable arm of Cox, the parent company of WSOC-TV.
The foundation concentrates its community support in several areas, including early childhood education and empowering families for success.
The grant also helped Classroom Central expand its online ordering system where teachers order what they need from a website called Classroom Up.
"It’s our community. It's really important to get into York County and to be here in this Rock Hill school today has been terrific," said Classroom Center board member Kathy Wholley. “The students write books and make books, so paper goes very quickly.”

As the teachers unpacked all the supplies, the kids took notice.
“Pencils, erasers, scissors,” said kindergartner Alycia Sumpter.
The children had a special song to show excitement and their gratitude.
"Thank you, thank you from me to you, Muah," they sang.
