On Tuesday, Crisp’s widow, Amanda, sons Garett and Logan, and Crisp’s mother, Elaine Tangeman, delivered handmade memorial cookies to the agencies involved in the manhunt that day and those that were instrumental in planning the funeral in the following days: McDowell Sheriff’s Office, Burke County Sheriff’s Office, Morganton Department of Public Safety, Western Piedmont Community College’s and McDowell Technical Community College’s Basic Law Enforcement Training programs, Marion Police Department, U.S. Forest Service and North Carolina Highway Patrol.

“It’s been a hard day, but a good day,” Amanda Crisp told deputies at the McDowell Sheriff’s Office. “I just want to thank each of you for what you did for us that day and the days that followed. You have been good to help us and to keep Jason’s memory alive.”
