Family opens their first standalone Latino bakery in east Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — A local family has achieved a life-long dream as they opened their first standalone bakery in east Charlotte.

The Cervantez family opened a Latino bakery named “Panaderia Odalys” on Saturday.

The family moved from Texas over 20 years ago to start their own business, “Odalys Bakery.” They own 10 locations across the Carolinas that are all attached to grocery stores or strip malls.

But now, the Cervantez family is excited to bring their flavor to the Charlotte area with a location not attached to another building.

“One of our most popular things is bolillos, it doesn’t have any fillings inside, but you can use it for a variety of cooking,” Angel Cervantez said.

The bakery is located on Central Avenue, just north of Albemarle Road. They will be serving all sorts of goods, including cakes, flan, and other pastries.
