The Charlotte Knights face the Norfolk Tides Thursday night in their home opener.
Despite the recent rain, officials said the field is in good shape.
The rain pushed practice indoors on Wednesday and a tarp was rolled onto the field to cover the grass and dirt at BB&T Ballpark.
Fans can expect temperatures in the 50s with wind gusts up to 45 mph. Lows will dip into the upper 40s by the end of the game under a clearing sky.
First pitch is at 7 p.m.
