CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — North Carolina state troopers have identified the driver in a deadly crash Monday morning in Cabarrus County.
The wreck happened just before 8:45 a.m. on Mount Pleasant Road, near NC 200 not far from Concord.
Troopers said 63-year-old Mitchell Watson of Thomasville was killed. His wife was a passenger and is being treated for serious injuries.
Troopers said Watson was driving southwest on Mt Pleasant when he ran off the right side of the road. He then overcorrected his vehicle and it overturned before hitting a tree.
