ROCK HILL, S.C. — Firefighters spent several hours Monday morning battling a blaze at a Rock Hill nightclub, officials say.
More than 20 firefighters responded to Club Odyssey at 593 Wilson Street after multiple people called to report the fire about 2:30 a.m., said Battalion Chief Steve Rogers. The blaze was fully involved when they arrived.
Officials have not yet determined the cause, but it appears the fire began in a room where the hot water heater and AC were located.
No one was at the club at the time or injured, Rogers said.
They are estimating $35,000 in damage, but that estimate could rise.
The outside doesn't appear badly damaged, but the interior is destroyed, he said.
The Minute Grill, located next door, was not touched and remains open today.
So far this year, Rock Hill Police Department has had 15 officer-initiated calls for service at Club Odyssey and 12 citizen initiated calls. Calls ranged from fights and disturbances to noise issues.
