Firefighters battle flames at East Spencer vacant home

EAST SPENCER, N.C. — Firefighters in East Spencer are trying to determine what started a fire at a vacant home early Thursday morning.

The first crews arrived at the home on East Division Avenue around 4:30 a.m. and found flames and smoke coming from the house.

Neighbors told Channel 9 that they did not hear anything before the fire started.

Nobody was hurt and investigators are working to figure out what sparked the fire.
