Food Lion outage continues; grocery chain works to restore digital tools

Food Lion’s app and website are down, and they have been for hours.

The grocery chain says anyone who placed unfulfilled orders will be refunded.

While they work to restore their app, they’re pointing people to order through third-party apps like Instacart.

Food Lion told Channel 9 this is a separate issue from Tuesday’s cyberattack on a French grocery store owned by the same parent company.

In that case, hackers changed the temperatures of freezers and refrigerators, causing produce to rot and food to be thrown out.
