CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte's former airport director is still getting paid one month after he lost his job during the fight for control of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
The city manager sent Eyewitness News a statement saying the court's order to stop an airport commission from taking over right now does not block the part of the new law about Jerry Orr being the executive director.
So even though Orr is not a city employee, the law says he can still receive his salary.
The airport has paid him $200,000 in the past month.
The city manager said that is not coming from tax money.
