Former Panthers star Christian McCaffrey listing uptown penthouse for $3.8M

CHARLOTTE — Former Carolina Panthers star Christian McCaffrey is looking to sell a piece of his real estate in the Charlotte market after being traded last fall. The running back, who now plays for the San Francisco 49ers, is listing his penthouse condo in uptown Charlotte for sale at $3.75 million.

That 3,813-square-foot penthouse is on the 22nd floor of the Skye Condominiums high-rise building at 222 S. Caldwell St. It hit the market Friday with a “coming soon” status, which means the home can not yet be physically shown to prospective buyers and agents, and will become an active listing on March 24, according to listing brokerage Ivester Jackson Christie’s International Real Estate.

The condo has three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms across a two-story footprint. It’s equipped with a long list of high-end features, including 25-foot-high ceilings, double-height windows, a chef’s kitchen and a large, private terrace.

If the property sells near its asking price, it would become the most expensive condo ever sold in Charlotte on a per-square-foot basis, according to a press release from Ivester Jackson.
