ROCK HILL, S.C. — A former Rock Hill teacher faces federal charges of using social media to send child sex abuse material to other users.
Douglas MacAlpine, 38, of York, was first arrested on state charges in the spring of 2025.
At the time, he was a teacher at Castle Heights Middle School and a track coach at Rock Hill High School.
He was also charged with peeping.
MacAlpine took video of a staff member wearing a dress from underneath a classroom table, investigators said.
No students were involved in the accusations, district officials said.
MacAlpine faces up to 20 years in prison for the federal charges.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation.
