100-year-old Uptown building facade could be torn down for data center

CHARLOTTE — A 100-year-old building’s facade could soon be demolished for a data center expansion.

Mecklenburg County approved the permit.

It’s for the Court Arcade building in Uptown Charlotte.

According to The Charlotte Observer, the developer originally planned to preserve the facade.

However, the permit calls for demolishing it, citing feasibility issues.
