CHARLOTTE — A bill that exempts key items from the state’s sales tax is moving forward.

The House Finance Committee cleared a bill that will no longer charge people sales tax on diapers, baby wipes, or female menstrual products like tampons and pads.

The full House now has to vote on it. Then it will head to the Senate.

The measure has bipartisan support.
