How Charlotte families are gearing up for Halloween night

CHARLOTTE — Trick-or-treating is underway across our area, and it seems Halloween decorations are becoming more extravagant.

Channel 9’s Glenn Counts was at Commonwealth Avenue, where some neighbors are taking Halloween very seriously.

The Dyson family has been dressing up their property for Halloween since 1986.

They have a haunted house on the inside of their home and on the outside, there are some homemade animatronics with all kinds of goblins and ghouls designed to frighten.

The theme for Saturday night is Beetlejuice, which means that some parents may have to explain Beetlejuice to their kids who are too young to have seen the movie.

The family says they have been working on the event since August. They said they have prepared 1,200 candy bags and they expect to run out before the night is over.
