How major Charlotte companies are prepping for workplace safety in the age of COVID-19

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Workplaces designed around employee collaboration are on a pandemic-induced sabbatical as Charlotte’s largest employers ponder how to bring the workforce back to the office.

The day when tens of thousands of employees finally return from their homes is even less clear in early July than it seemed a month ago after an early summer resurgence of cases of COVID-19 has Charlotte’s major employers holding back on a return to normal.

Through at least July 31, major employers such as Duke Energy Corp., Bank of America Corp., Wells Fargo & Co., Lash Group and LPL Financial say they have no intention of calling employees back to uptown office towers or to corporate campuses in the area.

Major employers are surveying their workers, gauging concerns and closely watching public tallies of confirmed cases.

The Charlotte Business Journal caught up with representatives for these major local employers about their plans for safety as employees return to offices. Read the full story here.
