HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Early Thursday morning a family in Huntersville welcomed the first baby born in Mecklenburg County in 2015.
The boy -- Mason Christopher Ainsworth -- was born at Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center at 12:01 a.m.
He weighed in at 8 pounds and was 18 inches long.
The proud parents, Jennifer and David Ainsworth of Huntersville, also have three older children.
Dr. Cary Fishburne of Novant Health Huntersville Obstetrics and Gynecology delivered the baby.
