HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A Target that was heavily damaged by a fire reopened Sunday in Huntersville.
The cause of the May fire inside the store is still under investigation after the Mecklenburg County fire marshal said it started in the middle of the paper product aisle.

The witness who called 911 told Channel 9 she saw toilet paper and paper towels on fire.(

The store had to temporarily close in order to undergo repairs and clean the extensive smoke, soot and odor damage throughout the store.

There will be a ceremony at 1 p.m. Wednesday to celebrate the reopening. The store will donate $2,500 each to Huntersville Fire Department and Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.
