CHARLOTTE — A passenger whose coffee maker was confiscated at airport security received a new machine after Action 9 News reported the issue.
Keurig provided Paul Gosselin and his spouse a replacement unit after Action 9 attorney Jason Stoogenke covered the story.

The Transportation Security Administration seized Gosselin’s single-cup Keurig coffee maker from his checked baggage after the device triggered multiple explosives compound alarms.
Although coffee machines are included on the TSA’s list of permitted items, security officers removed the unit from the luggage and left a notification note inside the bag.
The TSA confirmed the seizure in a statement to Stoogenke.
“Following multiple explosives compound alarms on a single-cup coffee maker in a passenger’s checked baggage, the item was removed and a note placed in the bag to notify the passenger that it was removed by TSA officers. This was all done in the presence of an airline representative,” the agency said.
