One arrested after shots fired in southwest Charlotte neighborhood

CHARLOTTE — One person has been arrested following a large police presence in a neighborhood in southwest Charlotte.

The incident began around 7:45 a.m. on Sullivans Trace Drive near Steele Creek Road.

Channel 9 crews observed several police vehicles, as well as MEDIC.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said men were fighting over money, then shots were fired. However, no one was hit.

One of the people involved then ran into a home in the area.

Police said one person was arrested.
