LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A Lincoln County man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter in connection with a 2021 death.
Jacoby Alexander Brooks, 24, pleaded guilty Sept. 8 to voluntary manslaughter in the death of Cody David Souther.
The incident happened June 14, 2021, in the 6000 block of East Highway 150.
Following his guilty plea, Brooks was sentenced to 64 to 89 months in prison with the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction.
