Longtime Dilworth restaurant to close and be replaced by new concept

CHARLOTTE — Longtime Dilworth restaurant Bonterra will close Dec. 23 -- but it marks a new beginning for that historic church on Cleveland Avenue.

Husband-and-wife team Jeff Tonidandel and Jamie Brown intend to purchase that building; the deal is scheduled to close in January.

“This one totally came out of the blue, but it was one we were like, we can’t pass this up,” Brown says. “Thankfully, we were able to secure it.”

From there, the target would be to open a new concept by late 2022. Those ideas are still being fleshed out, Tonidandel says.
