Man arrested after exposing himself on CPCC main campus, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was arrested after he was caught exposing himself in the women's restroom at Central Piedmont Community College on Wednesday, police said.

Joshua Stinson, 23, has been charged with two counts of indecent exposure and two counts of false imprisonment.

Officers believe he’s done it twice in less than a week in the same building at the main campus in Charlotte’s Elizabeth neighborhood.

“Just incredibly disturbing,” a student said. “This kind of thing does not happen at this campus very often.”

Last week, an alert went out to students at CPCC in regard to the flasher.

The email describes a man in his 20s or 30s who exposed himself on the fifth floor of the Levine IT building.

Investigators searched the building but couldn't find him.

Another alert went out Wednesday when investigators said the same man showed himself to someone in the same building.

School officials said the man is not a CPCC student and is in custody with Allied Universal.

“One thing I can think of is adding a little bit more security, especially around the parts of the building that have less students or less traffic,” a student said.

Students say the section of the building where the incidents happened is on a part of campus that's tucked away with not as many people.

“I'm glad they found him though,” Charlotte resident Sheila Walker said. “Hopefully no one was harmed that day by him.”
