Concord man accused of shooting wife to death, police say

CONCORD, N.C. — A 65-year-old man was arrested and charged after admitting he shot and killed his wife, Concord police said in a news release on Thursday.

At about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Concord Police Department responded to a home on Tangle Ridge Drive SE after a report of someone being shot.

The shooting victim, Joann Carroll-McDonald, died at the home.

Her husband, Reginald McDonald, admitted to the killing and was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with first-degree murder.

No other details have been released.
