Man arrested in Rock Hill homicide is also a suspect in two more local shootings

ROCK HILL, S.C. — A man charged in connection with an August homicide in Rock Hill has also been named a suspect in two other shootings in the Carolinas.

Jamie Gavantay Williams, 25, of Rock Hill, was charged on Thursday in a fatal shooting on Aug. 31 at an apartment complex in the 300 block of South Heckle Boulevard.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, was found just after 10:30 p.m. in the driver’s seat of a white Kia Forte suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.

The man, who was not identified by authorities, died two weeks later at an area hospital.

Williams faces charges of murder, unlawful carrying of a firearm and possession of a weapon during a crime of violence. Rock Hill police said Williams was already in custody facing charges for a Nov. 23 homicide at the same apartment complex. In that incident, 32-year-old Kevion Harris was found shot dead.

Williams received the same charges for his role in that shooting: murder, unlawful carrying of a firearm and possession of a weapon during a crime of violence.

Detectives also identified 19-year-old Nehemiah Latavion Boular as another suspect in the Aug. 31 homicide.

Detectives said Boular had knowledge Williams committed the murder and helped him flee the area to escape.

Detectives believe Boular waited in a nearby car and drove Williams from the scene right after he shot the victim.

Boular was arrested and transported to the Rock Hill Jail on Feb. 20 and served his warrant for accessory after the fact.

After that shooting, Channel 9 discovered that Harris’ and Williams’ names and dates of birth matched those of the suspects involved in a shooting at Carolina Place Mall last May in Pineville.

At the time, Rock Hill police confirmed they are the same individuals, and said charges have now been brought in both incidents by their respective agencies. In the May 1 shooting, Harris and Williams shot at each other inside the mall and both went to the hospital with minor injuries.

Williams was denied bond for the charges relating to the Aug. 31 homicide.
