COLUMBIA, S.C. — The man accused of murdering a 22-year-old Waxhaw woman in South Carolina is expected to enter a plea on Friday, according to The Post and Courier in Charleston.
In May 2025, Logan Federico was staying with friends at the University of South Carolina when police say Alexander Dickey broke in, shot her in the chest and stole her wallet.
He was arrested in Lexington County and charged with murder in Columbia for Federico’s death.

Logan’s Law
Federico graduated from Marvin Ridge High School and worked at a Ballantyne sports bar.
At the time of her murder, her accused killer already had 25 felony charges, prompting lawmakers to introduce “Logan’s Law.” The legislation would require the U.S. Attorney General to establish a database where states would have to name anyone who’s convicted of a violent crime punishable by six months or more in jail. That includes cases where a criminal pleads down to a lesser crime or sentence.
That bill remains in the Senate Judiciary Committee and has yet to be brought up for a vote.
