Man charged after allowing minor to possess rifle at elementary school

CHARLOTTE — According to court documents, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department charged 19-year-old Jeshua Medina with allowing a minor to have a rifle at Berryhill Elementary School in west Charlotte.

Investigators say they were responding to a shots fired call on Saturday when Medina ran into a wooded area.

He’s facing two charges including resisting a public officer.

Medina is now out of jail on bond.
