A former NBA and Charlotte Hornets player has put his Carmel Estates mansion back on the market at nearly $8 million.

Gordon Hayward and wife, Robyn, listed their 8,838-square-foot estate in south Charlotte for sale on Nov. 2 at $7.995 million. The home was originally listed for $10 million in May and underwent a $1 million price cut in late June. It was pulled from the market in early August at $9 million, Zillow data shows.

The Haywards purchased the 1.25-acre property for $4.7 million in January 2021, according to Mecklenburg County real estate records.

The custom home backs up to the 16th hole of the Carmel Country Club golf course and is tucked into a private cul-de-sac. Valerie Mitchener, owner of local residential real estate brokerage Corcoran HM Properties, is the listing agent.

The two-story property includes five bedrooms, with six full bathrooms and two half-baths. It was built in 2006.
